❓ FAQ
-
The xenon lamp test chamber can simulate the full-spectrum sunlight (ultraviolet, visible light, infrared), which is closer to natural sunlight and is suitable for comprehensive weathering tests of materials such as color change and fading. The UV test chamber mainly simulates short-wave ultraviolet rays, focusing on the rapid screening of physical properties such as cracking and strength reduction of materials.
-
The selection is mainly based on the test standards and requirements.
Air-cooled: Low cost, easy maintenance, suitable for flat samples, meeting the requirements of most coatings, plastics, and textiles tests.
Water-cooled: High irradiation intensity, good heat dissipation, suitable for high-power and large samples (such as automotive interiors), mostly in drum-type structure. -
Irradiance refers to the energy intensity of the lamp beam when it shines on the sample. As the lamp ages, the light intensity naturally decreases. The closed-loop control system continuously monitors this through sensors and automatically adjusts the output power to maintain a stable light intensity, ensuring that the test results are reproducible.
-
The TA-XD-500 supports multiple optional filter configurations, including daylight filters for simulating outdoor direct sunlight exposure and window glass filters for simulating indoor light conditions through glass. The choice of filter directly affects the spectral distribution reaching the sample and should be selected based on the relevant test standard requirements.
-
The Q-LAB air-cooled xenon lamp used in the TA-XD-500 has a service life of approximately 1,200 hours. It is recommended to replace the lamp when the closed-loop control system can no longer compensate for the irradiance drop to the set target value, or when the cumulative operating hours approach the rated service life, to ensure test accuracy and repeatability.
-
The TA-XD-500 is designed to meet a wide range of internationally recognized weathering and light fastness standards, including ISO 4892-2, ASTM G155, SAE J2412, SAE J2527, PV 3929, AATCC TM16, ISO 105-B02, and ISO 11341. This makes it suitable for testing across industries such as automotive, coatings, textiles, and building materials.
